If money were no object this is what I would build today...

I could not sleep so I was playing around on GamePC.com to customize a system. If I were filthy rich this is what I would build from them.

Thats alot of money! Strange with all that they offer their speaker selection is not that good so with good speakers this would go over $10K! I might want to also eliminate the monitor and add $3,000 more to get a good projector. Now that would be kick ass 🙂

Forget Desktops.

Where's my Room-sized 64-way Xeon Server? With RAID-cabinets to the ceilding 😀

Ah well...

🙂

BTW - why "only" 1 GB?

The board/chipset supports up to 2 GB, doesn't it? 🙂

Admittedly, you'll need a cooler for the RIMMs at those dimensions. But it'd be fun 🙂.

you spent $15k but that system wont even be able to be turned on! LOL!! but can you imagine spending that much on a system 🙂

there are a few ok new cars you can get for $15k and the funny thing is in 2 years the car would still be worth $10k if you take care of it but the system would be worth what? $4000 or less? Only the monitor would keep alot of value. We live in funny times 🙂

If you were rich, you might want to try windows 2000 or win xp, so that your system could use the 1GB of ram.

Well, actually I just tried to make the most expensive computer there is at gamepc.com. I just said it costs more, not that it's faster or anything 😉 but it's actually kinda stupid that they let select you an Intel CPU and an AMD Mobo IMHO

Also, if you have too much time on your hands, go to dell.com and try to order the most expensive Server and whatsoever 😉 It's fun 😉

I'd have to say that video card is your big money waster, you'd get far better performance and a higher price if you go the Wildcat route.

But for real fun customise these: IBM workstations with an $84,000 base price you can have lots of fun. Don't get me started on servers...
