What's the cheapest price I should expect to pay for one new?

Also, Newegg has some refurbished cards, but I'm a bit wary of them. Anyone have experience buying refurbished? It does seem you have save quite a few dollars that way, but at what true cost?

Thanks!

If you get lucky, you could pay around 250. Most likely closer to 300-350 range though. Better hurry if you want to get a new AGP 6800GT though. Last I checked, Newegg only had the XFX in stock. The AGP cards are being phased out in favor of the superior PCI Express. :)

Superior?? Looky here we have a pci-e fanboi. I prefer to call pci-e more of a forced migration.

According to Newegg, the Refurb cards may not come with cables/drivers/other components. That's one major difference.

I SO MUCH AGREE just a way to make money and confuse things

I kick my self for not buying that ati x800pro for $200 clearance at BB a few months ago.

I paid $333 for my 6800bfg and its a great card

Refurbs are broken cards or cards that people take back after complaining it was broken. Then they "restore" it which basicly means wrap it up again and resale it as refurb.

I picked up a refurb Leadtek A400 from Chiefvalue.com earlier this week for ~$210, but they appear to be out of stock now. Fingers crossed when it arrives later this week.

Edit: showed up yesterday. It might as well have been a retail package, included driver CDs, games, cables, and manuals.

I ignored the install CD and pulled new drivers from the Leadtek website. The card is running like a champ: 40-50 fps in both WoW and Half-Life 2 with all detail goodies enabled at 1650x1080 (widescreen) with 4x AA and 4x AF enabled.

Refurbs are always a gamble, but this one appears to have paid off in a big way.
