If im just playing records will a Belt Drive turntable be just fine?

belt drive/ direct drive .... dont really see why ones more expensive/better than the other. belt drive be good for just playing, no dj'ing or anything

Yes it is fine.

Some even say the belt gives isolation and cuts rumble from the motor.

DD is only needed for quick starts and more torque - obviously for spinning (aka DJ stuff) so you will be fine there.
