Let say my room is 90*F and I were to bring in like 10 jugs of cold water 40*F into the room. The door is open and the whole house is the same temperature so there is no temp changes by opening the door. So I leave those jugs in the room, would the room get colder?

If you're like most of the pale kids, water @ 8.34 # per gallon will require you to move over 83#'s in those 10 jugs, rendering you completely out of breathe and raise your heartrate enough to easily more than make up for any kind of thermal advantage the 40F water could possibly give you.

Of course you'd then have to somehow muster the strength to dump them all out. Good luck junior;)

make a coil of copper tubing in front of a fan, connect copper tubing to garden hose. behold, you now have air conditioning.

Get a big heatsink, paste it onto your forehead with Arctic Silver Epoxy, and mount a 120mm fan in front of it.

Depends on the temp of the water, too.

 Or use that spare watercooling setup you've got lying around to plug into your ears and... other orifices.

Or get big deep freezer and wrap the copper coils around and around and around and hook it to a water pump say for a small pond or fountian and then you will have super cold air. But then again the freezer may end up using more air then an actual air conditioner.

Just go spend the afternoon in your public library. It's free, and you may actually learn something useful.

Honestly, go dig a hole and bury yourself in it. I wonder if you would get warmer? Be sure to bring those jugs of water.

actually, swamp coolers use water... but they are basically A/C units that dump their heat in a tub of water rather than just cool water sitting in one place.

 So you didn't like his witty comment? Nonetheless both you and the majority of the people in this thread are asses. Are you an ass because you're compensating for the fact that you're a hairy, overweight, social reject who is limited to friends on the 'InTaRWEB' and clerks at stores you visit on a regular basis?

Any cooling effect would be outweighed by the humidity increase.. But since the doors are open there won't be any difference.

Edit: Actually, the water would cool, but not the house.

Wow, overcompensating yourself there little man. Alot of people are quite frustrated with that fact that you post a majority of useless threads that while you may think are OT, are really off the reservation entirely.

I have nothing to overcompensate for.. I thinkt the issue at hand is that people have their heads so far shoved up their asses due to what ever reason it is that it appears they're oblidged to 'convert' all those around them with their ideals.
