If i were going to buy a new mobo and cpu what should i buy?

Not real sure on what brands to buy... I am going to use it for gaming, IE eq 2, counterstrike, hl2 etc.

I would like to spend around 200$ for both and i know some of you people know your stuff alot better than me.

That will get you an AMD XP cpu and nforce2 mobo, check the stickied Systems thread to see which ones.

$300 would get you a much faster AMD A64 CPU and mobo, again see the thread.

athlonxp system with a nforce2 board like dave said, or you can spend a little more and get a athlon64 2800+ with a Chaintech vnf3-250 for 224

for around 200 you cant beat a 2800 a64 and nf3 mobo like the epox.
