If I went to pluto and said "I claim this planet for me" would I be allowed to keep it?

Or, is there some stupid law or TOS that I was signed into at birth prohibiting humans from Earth to claim rights on anything in the universe?

no idea why i typed moon. ment pluto.

When you opened the envelope you agreed to the EULA saying you wouldn't own the moon.

In Soviet Russia, satellite owns you!

1.) Go to moon
2.) claim it (not a planet) as your own
3.) ...
4.) profit

Some country would eventually come up and claim it and force you out with lots of guns and stuff.

There is some debate about Pluto being a planet.

Try Jupiter, no question there.

Acutally, there is. Jupiter is so massive that many believe it is a dead sun. Try Mars. It's closer, and it's definately a planet.

Good luck fighting off the native Plutonians, I hear they scalp people

my death farts will subdue the natives and make them worship me as a god

Let us know...

😉

I think you should worry about it when it happens. But, agree w/ others, in theory you could claim it if you were the first to visit, but, without an army you'll have a tough time keeping it.

I though that suns ended up as black dwarfs, white dwarfs, neuton stars, or black holes.

It never fully formed as a sun. That's why I refer to it as a dead sun, and not as one of the above mentioned.

Can you link us up with some of these new theories about Jupiter? I'd really like to read about that

Well once the moniliths turn Jupiter back into a sun to help with the formation of life on Europa we wont need to debate this anymore.

Ejected portion of the sun would be better still. 😉 I just threw out the first term that came to mind.

I think some guy already claimed them and owns them. He also copywrote the name and such so he is supposed to collect royalties, but no one actually pays him.
This information is second hand, thus could be wrong.

IMO, it's yours if you're willing to and able to defend it.
