Theres a website that i really want and the guy has been sitting on it forever. For at least a year since i first contacted him. It bothers me b/c i got a good idea for it and hes had it and dont nothing.

His subscription expires tomorrow, 2/14. Does that mean at midnight i can register it if he doesnt? How does it work?

Thanks

matt

IIRC, they can still register the name for a few months after it expires. The best thing you could do is put it on backorder. Go to Network Solution's Website and enter the domain name in to check availability. It will say that it is not available, but you should be able to put it on backorder. (uses snapnames.com)

Isn't there something you can sign up for that notifies you the minute it becomes available again ? Is that what they want $69 for ? Maybe there's others providers that do this ?

I'll tell you this, Network Solutions rarely gives up domain registrations quickly. There was a specific domain I was interested in, and when I went to go check the registration, it had expired a year-and-a-half ago, and Netsol still hadn't cleared it from their database. It finally did get released early last year and promptly got snapped up by a "link farm" sort of website. Netsol sucks :(

His registrar can reserve the domain for him for 60-90 days after it expires.
