I highly doubt I'll ever go sli but that doesn't mean I want to take away any chance of that happening :)

Anyway, it seems strange to me that the Asus gaming motherboards seem to only support Crossfire. Is this usually the case with intel chipsets? Do I have to buy a nforce board to get SLI capabilities?

Yes, it has to be a board with the NVidia chipset.

ASUS makes them too - see my sig.

Go to Newegg and type-in 650i or 680i.

Good luck!

Before you buy, wait at least a week and see how the Nvidia 700 series boards stack up to the 680i boards. And yes SLI=Nvidia chipset.

You might want to read this thread and especially the links for HardOCP before you delve into that territory.
