For a while I've been drooling over replacing my old CRT, maybe as a Christmas gift to myself. I like the space of a 19" widescreen. But the 1440x900 resolution. When I look in Desktop Properties/Settings I have tons of settings, but 1440x900 doesnt seem to be in the list. Am I right that it would not work with that kind of monitor?

Device Manager says the card is ASUS V9400-X'

Generally it will only display what your monitor can handle. When I had my 17" LCD plugged in, the max it showed was 1280 x 1024. As soon as I unplugged it and popped in my 20" widescreen, it showed the max to be 1680x1050. As long as your video card can handle the resolution you are looking to use, it should show up fine. As for the card you have there, I don't know anything about it, you'd have to check the mfr's website for its max resolution.

You can always add custom resolutions if necessary, but it should be supported by default.

Your card is a GeForce MX 4000. Can run 2 monitors at anything up to 2048x1536 resolution @ 75Hz.
