will I be able to use the sound too? the reason I ask is because I got 4 speakers connected to my receiver...which only works when the vcr is on...if I were to hook up my computer to the vcr (it has the audio/video hookups...the red...yellow and white thingys) would it use the 4 speakers? or would I have to have some cable running from my sound card to the vcr?

You may have to run audio out to the reciever from your PC for it to use all 4 speakers.

What I'd do to connect it through the VCR is the following.

Run Video/audio out from the PC to the VCR. Run Video/audio out to the reciever. Set your reciever to use the VCR signal. Put your TV on the channel that the Reciever inputs to, turn on the VCR, and set it to the correct input for the PC. Then it should work.

If you can connect directly to the reciever, you can save youself the hassel of using the vCR as a "gobetween"
