if I upgrade from a P4 1.9A to a 2.4C (w/ hyperthreading) will I need to reinstall?

I was wondering, I have a 1.9A (400Mhz bus) laying around. I could build my new system with a 865PE motherboard then get a new CPU in a couple months.

but will I need to reinstall XP to enable hyper threading?
 
When switching MOBO's it is best to do a full reinstall...

You could however try the repair option under XP....

If you were currently using that 400 FSB in the 865, then NO, you would not need to reinstall xp to take advantage of Hyper Threading.
