...could I run 195-200 FSB with my XMS PC3200 and Epox 8K5A2? I would overclock it to about where I am right now, 1.85 GHz, but just faster bus speed. Something like 9.0 x 200 = 1800 MHz, 9.5 x 200 = 1900 MHz, or 195 x 9.5 = 1853 MHz was what I had in mind. But is it even worth the trouble? I might try it if there's a big performance gain.

Uh.... dude, what are you asking? DO IT! NOW! If nothing else you can just run it at your current settings anyway.

IMO, you have a good chance of hittin 200 bus speed as long as your board will handle it, and you damn well better have a 1/5 divider, cause if you don't your PCI will be at 50mhz!!!! :Q VERY BAD for hard drives! 40 mhz is pretty bad too btw.

Have fun and tell us what method you are using to unlock..

Oh, btw, your gains should be good enough to justify doing it. Even if you end up with a slower proc(e.g. 9 x 200), your computer will be faster.

It seems like a good idea, although you are going to be running your pci/agp at 40mhz...a little too high for my liking, and you will probably also have to up some voltages. I would try it if I had the RAM to make it there, but I doubt you'll have success without a 1/6 divider...possibly with kt400a?

I'm not sure how the dividers work but wouldn't 200 MHz FSB bump the PCI/AGP back to 33/66? Because I noticed that when the bus speed is 133 it sets them at 33/66, 134-165 it overclocks agp and pci, and then at 166 FSB it goes back to 33/66. At 175 FSB (currently running) it says it will be 70/35. So wouldn't it drop back to 33/66 at around 200 MHz? I can't find any options for dividers in my Bios. Is there any program to check the PCI/AGP bus speeds within windows?

No, you would need a 1/6 divider to get it to set back to 33/66 when you hit 200. There is no current mobo with a 1/6 divider, but I think the kt400a will come with one. How the divider works: (1/4 divider)133/4 = 33, (1/5 divider)166/5= 33, (1/6 divider)200/6 = 33. Your current mobo has the 1/5 divider but is not accessible in bios, it turns on automatically when you set it to 166fsb.
