If I swap CPUs will that effect file permissions?

I have a P4 2.8GHz CPU currently installed in a machine that connects to a domain server. If I swap that out for a supported P4 3.0GHz w/HT is that going to change the SID and deny me file access?

99% sure the answer is no, I'm pretty sure its tied to the MB, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think I keep associating the SID with what Intel wanted to do years ago by putting a unique identifier on the CPU which was met with uproar at the time.

SID is unique to the windows install. It will not change unless you run sysprep, newsid, or something similar. Even a complete mobo/cpu/nic swap won't change SID (It will almost certainly cause windows to want to re-activate though.. but that's separate from your domain SID).

THATS right, I forgot the re-activate doesn't change SID in that case.

My wife thinks your a pretty good guy. But she wants to ask . Do you get paid at the Volunteer job .She also wants to know if The Zoo is were you volunteer? She and me were sitting here discussing the old days were people just helped each other in fellowship . Man I miss that time. I would love for it to be the same today as it was in the 50,s early 60s. But those people are mostly all gone and there children ended pretty clueless about what fellowship really is. You should receive package on thursday.
