If I set up IIS on my computer how do I get a domain name to work?

If I set up IIS on my computer people should be able to access my computer by typing in my IP address. How do I get this to work with a domain name though?

For Internet domain, you have to buy one from a Domain vendor (like this http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/default.asp ).

For Local Network you have to build a Domain based Network running on a Server OS (like Windows 2003).

I have an internet domain name. It's asking to enter A or CNAME Record. Can I just enter my computer's ip address?

edit: What do I put in for name servers?

I think he's trying to host his domain off his home computer/IP.

you should put in something for your computer, such as "www" and the live IP (if you are going through a soho router) for the cname record. Then "www.example.com" will resolve to your home computer.
