Have the ff. config:

Duron 800 w/ Thermaltake Volcano 6cu+
Epox 8KHA+
128MB PC Chips (Nanya chips) DDR Memory
20Gb Maxtor Diamond Max Plus.
300 Watts generic Power supply
Aureal Vortex 2 Super Quad

If I overclock my CPU to 950Mhz, have any idea how long will my cpu last if i use it everyday?
I can overclock it up to 950 by boosting voltage to 1.85Volts.

When no overclocked (800 Mhz), I got a reading of 41Celcius. Is AMD really this hot?

There are no guarantees and it depends on which CPU, but generally, ocing out of spec'll cut your processor life down to about 3-5 years.

you have to realize that its heat that kills a processor. And today's processors are very hot. So, Its all about getting the heat off the processor, so you can run it as fast as you can get it. So, a better heat sync helps. Also, more volatge, and higher clock rates will consume more power, and thus create a hotter chip. Its up to you, but I generally try to overclock if I can, and I haven't lost a processor to overclocking yet... but then My processors don't stay around here for 3 years to test the theory either....

It will probably last as long as you want it to...which means until you upgrade to a faster one. Go for it.

Gotta agree with that - overclocked or not overclocked chances are your CPU will still be working perfectly when you dump it to upgrade.
