Example: I'm running off a recipe that calls for a Devil's Food Cake mix. Do I have to add all the ingredients for the mix, then follow the recipe in the book, or just throw the mix right in? Stupid question, I know.

Ok, Ok...I was wrong. It's just devil's food mix...geez...I'm making it for a friend of mine. She's pretty depressed right now, and she's a chocolate fanatic. It's called deep dark chocolate death...I'll post the recipe later...

If it is calling specifically for the mix then put in the mix. If it's asking for dough then make the dough and put that in.

Dear OP, go to a bakery and stare forlornly at the display case until someone takes pity on you or, the cops pick you up for terminal cakelessness. P.S. Thanks for the chuckle.

I was going to make the same thing, but I decided to return it to Wal Mart.
I forgot to take it with me, so I grabbed one off the shelf and tried to return that one instead and told them I'd bring mine next time and we'd be square.
Assholes said it was "against store policy" or some BS.
