If I mailed a package using USPS priority mail on Monday afternoon and it still hasn't got there Friday evening?

I mailed it from Utah to Texas. I mailed it out Monday at 1:30pm and as of Friday (today) it still didn't arrive when the mailman came. I'm not worried about it being there for Christmas because it is not a present, but there were some personal things in the package. I am worried about it being lost or stolen. Does it usually take this long for priority mail this time of year?
