I have a 512mb card and I use a Canon S3. I currently have the resolution set to the highest setting. I don't print big pribnts, just normal size like 4x6. I want to save room on my memory card, will I lose any picture quality by going to la lower res like 1600x1200?

I had a 1 megapixel camera (960 x 1280) and the 4x6 quality seemed good to me. You may want to take a few test shots, print them and see if they're up to par with your standards.

Buying another memory card is a good suggestion.

But otherwise, I don't think you'd LOSE any picture quality, I think if anything you'd GAIN picture quality because the area of the sensor represented by each pixel is larger. But I don't know much about those things.

2 MP (Cant remember the pixel resolution) should be sufficient for quality 4x6 prints. You may want 3 or higher for 8x10's.

Well I don't use my printer, I go to Walgreens or Wal-Mart. It's cheaper in the long run to do that I believe.

You're right, and the quality and durability is much better.

Anyway, I think it is recommended that the resolution be 200-300 dpi for printing, and 1600x1200 is nearly 300.

Why do they make p&s digicams 4:3 aspect ratio anyway?
