...due to expense report processing slowdown from my company around tax-time, would they accept any preemptive reasoning on this topic or will my credit report basically be slapped? Due the 21st and reimbursement still hasn't hit my account...

This happened to me a few years ago. I just called and explained to AmEx. Nothing bad happened.

Creditors only report lates to the bureau once they hit 30 days.


As long as you are not 30 days past due, you are fine.

Nothing's going to happen, especially with AMEX corporate. Just don't be "months" late.
