if i have to chose one to do

ok here's my work out, it's been 7weeks i'm doing this, incline bench press, dead lift, shoulder press, barbell curl, wrist curl, squats

how do you do a wrist curl? i've been wanting to try a NFL reciever's workout: tie a rope around a 3-4in diameter pipe, and the other end through a 10 pound weight, then roll the pipe around in your hands so the rope wraps around it as fast as you can

What? The truth was not something you wanted to hear?

Inclines target a separate muscle from your main pec muscles:

Inclines target this muscle:

Flat targets this muscle:

You really do need to do both.

Also remember this: If you do not have a balanced weight routine, you will build your body unevenly and cause injury to your weaker muscles.

You need to do flat bench to properly stimulate your whole pec. Plus, you're already doing shoulder press. With incline + shoulder you're limiting yourself too much. Flat + shoulder covers everything better. Basically what Amused said... though I don't like to break it down quite that much as major/minor/muscle heads are almost always stimulated through compound lifts. I've been trying the 5x5 program recently for something new (had good gains with MaxOT but started getting bored) and I really like it.

hmm...thats what i was looking for...i'm not yet doing split routines, i train two days a week, monday and thursday. today i tried flat...and i liked it...chest seems to be more tired

and after how many weeks should i do different body parts on different days? right now i'm doing 8reps x 3sets then i try one last set set with more weight ..usually i can do about 5-6 on the last rep...not more...

Then instead of being a pompous prick and posting crap like this, why don't you correct them, your Excellency?

So is the general concensus that doing overhead shoulder presses (bringing bar down to top of chest) and flat bench pretty much covers the pecs? I don't do incline even though I know I should, my workouts are just pretty full as is. Curious if overhead presses + flat cover all the pecs

Squat first in your session. This will serve as a great warm up as I KNOW you wouldn't have warmed up properly.

I can't be bothered with such droll peasant requests.

Back to work, knave.
