If I have a product key, can I use ANY Xp disk to install Windows?

I have an original Windows Xp Home OEM product key. However, I don't have the matching disk.

Can I use any OEM Windows Xp Home disk to install Windows, then enter that product key when prompted? The computer is basically a generic brand, so I doubted that a Dell OEM disk would work, but would a generic OEM copy do the job?

Dell branded cd, no

generic (non-branded) oem cd, works ~99.9% of the time.

Dell OEM CD will also work, you just have to change the CD Key before activating.
