if I graduate in the Fall, will I have less competition when it comes to finding full time jobs?

my reasoning is that since most college students graduate in spring, by graduating in the fall, I may have a better shot at some of the more selective companies.

I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of graduating next semester vs. staying one full academic year

A lot of schools will hold career fairs in the fall, and companies will recruit students who aren't graduating until the next spring, so I wouldn't think graduating in the fall would have much advantage.

I wouldn't count on it. The sooner you have a degree the sooner you can llook for a job, I think that is the way you should be looking at it. There will always be competition and there will always be someone out there better and more qualified than you.

Employment is seasonal, so the demand for labor during this time will fall as well. I would still graduate in fall though. Take it easy during the winter and look for job as well.

its also possible that some companies will not be actively looking to hire until spring.

I think it goes both ways... from my experience there are often fewer January offers than summer offers, since some of the large companies like to hold large new hire orientation classes.

I would say stay the full 4 years unless you want/need the money really bad. Having money is great and all but there is nothing like enjoying the spring semester of your senior year. The spring graduations are far better than the graduations for winter grads.
