Whats up is your salary needs to cover your butt and hers, tell her that it will, and you'll be okay with her not working, then she can pop out babies and be happy. If your new job doesn't cut that, then it may be why she's trippin.

:)

maybe there are other factors (ie family, friends etc.) you have to talk to her and find out why she wont move.

if you give up this job you may resent her for it in the end.

*kat. <-- would go.

<< 5 years is a long time guy >>

Classy, we may not agree politically but your opinion differing with the majority on this issue is good advice. I'm looking at it from her perspective....what kind of a future does she envision after 6 or 7 years? Has she been mentioning family or children yet? She has already moved once and the prospect of moving again with no true commitment may be making her upset.
That said, how far apart would you be if you relocated to the new job? You could always drive to visit her on the weekends until you sort things out :)
Good Luck!

I agree with the others, you need to go for the job. But if you've been together all that time, and love her, why aren't you engaged? Right now you want her to take a leap of faith, if she was engaged she might think otherwise (not that that's why you should get engaged). If anything, you moving will allow you to see how good your relationship is. Then maybe you can offer her something more permanent.

Suicidal, I haven't the faintest idea about any advice because frankly I just got shot down today so I'm pitching a goose egg in that category. But, do you live in Syracuse? :) I hate Wegman's- it's f'ing huge and some of the stuff is in weird places...like some toilet paper is at the end of like the italian row- and the rest is in the paper goods section- wtf is up with that?! :Q

Heh, sorry...

Good luck man! :)

Repeat after me: "Do not work for Corning. Do not work for Corning."

I have heard from friends that once you get into Corning you never, ever get out. The just won't let you go and its not great of a company to work for. Have you ever driven through Corning. It's like the armpit of the world. Not much around there. If a nuclear bomb hit the place it would creat about $0.13 of damage.

The job market is still good and you can do better. I got 20K more than I should of.
