If I Get Married I Can Have My Wife Move In With Me In My Section 8 Apartment

In my section 8 housing there is a rule that you can only have someone sleep overnight in your apartment 12 times a year.

But there was a rule change that your wife or husband can have unlimited visits and you don't need to pay more in rent!

I wouldn't even think about getting married until we find out if they are going to kill no fault divorce. I also wouldn't risk having a child now.

HUD needs to know all people living in the household, their incomes, etc. If you have filled out their paperwork you should know this. Your rent may go up or down depending on the info in your paperwork.

If you get married and your combined incomes exceed the threshold you’ll lose your section 8 eligibility.

OTOH none of your neighbors are likely to care if your GF is sleeping over more than 12x a month.
