I will SCREAM.
---------------------------------------
I was asked to share this with you.

September 11, 2003 is soon approaching. On that day, please wear
red,
white and blue to work or school to show your support for those who
lost
their lives on 9~11~01 and to honor the heroes who worked to save them
and
the families left behind.

At noon your time on September 11, 2003, no matter where you are or
what
you are doing, stop; put your hand on your heart, and say the Pledge
of
Allegiance~ out loud or to yourself, and say a prayer for our nation.
If
all of us do this together, in every time zone around the world, we
will
have a powerful chain of prayer & thoughts surrounding us.

Pass this along to your friends and family. By September 11, 2003
hopefully
enough people will have read this and will join together in unity.

God Bless the U.S.A.
------------------------------------

Seriously..why do I keep getting these. God this, America that..support this, bless that.. I am freaking tired of it. What would be a polite way to tell these people (who I work with) to stop sending me their propaganda?

I don't see the point of saying the pledge, it's not like we did it or something.

Why did they pick noon?

This is what we got at work here...

"In observance of the second anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, we will observe a Moment of Silence four times tomorrow morning, as will the New York- and Toronto-based stock exchanges.

One-minute moments of silence will be observed at 8:46 a.m. EDT, 9:03 a.m., 9:59 a.m. and 10:29 a.m., the times of day when each tower of the World Trade Center was struck, and the times that they fell. These Moments of Silence will be observed in all of our trading floors and offices around the world. Please take a moment to remember the families, friends and loved ones of everyone who has been affected by the events of this day."

Edit : This was what was sent offically by the Bank where I work to all it's employees...

I would say get over it.

Next time just delete the email instead of getting pissed and posting it on the internet.

I just cant wait until we all (the public) forgets about it, as we do with other tragic events. No more stupid emails...no more moments of silence..and hopefully no more patriotic crap at NFL football games!

The person who wrote that is not a card-carrying member of that mysterious organization that secretly runs the world, "they". More likely, it was written by some mildly retarded bleeding-heart AOL user who enjoys baking muffins in her spare time while taking care of her 113 cats.

Companies need to just fire people right off the bat for spamming the office. That's what they do here, and I don't get any spam at all.

Funny side note though... the last person to get fired for spamming sent out that monkey video where he drinks his own piss to All worldwide employees. About a half hour later they were on thier way home. (Think: 2 meg video * 3000 employees = heart attack for exchange servers...)

face it... turning these things into annual events is, imho, starting to get annoying. I don't see us having a moment of silence on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor being attacked by the Japanese.. (maybe I'll start that chain letter email myself).... I don't see a moment of silence on the anniversary of the [fill in tragedy here.] Why start making these annual events now. I feel bad for the families who lost loved ones in the WTC. But, even that has been tested as they started bickering over the billions of dollars that were donated to the cause.

Yes, just forget about it.

I agree that synthetic and insincere observations such as the one you posted initially are pointless and that the propagation of them via E-mail is taxing a resource that should be used in a more professional manner. However, we should never allow ourselves to forget about it. We can't grow as a nation if we ignore our enemies and forget our dead.
