I'm building a new PC, and was planning to get a black, blue, or silver case..

How do I color-match visible things like floppy drives and dvd-rom drives?

Any product links?

You can buy black drives but its extremely wasteful - its very easy to paint the facias of the drives you already have. I painted my CDRW, Floppy, Zip drive and 5¼" bay cooler a few weeks back to match my Lian Li PC60 case. I used standard grey car spray paint although most people suggest using vinyl dye because it doesn't chip as easy - but I've not had that problem anyway.

There are lots of previous threads on how to do this just do a search for paint.

Painting CD-ROMs and floppies black . . . any input, experiences?

Any tips on painting drives?

You would be limited in the choices as far as finding color peripherals, go shop for paint and if possible bring a sample of the color. Some place will let you try the paint to see if it's a match. Good luck.

I just built my all Black system, and oh boy is it sweet!!!
Go to Directron and start looking. They have many blackcases to choose from. I went with the Fong Kai 320 and man is it a sweet case!!!!!!!!!

They even have a different section for black

Picked up the Toshiba DVD and a Teac floppy. Everything matches perfectly.

Then get yourself a Viewsonic G90mb (black) monitor.

I just finished putting it all together, and it is very nice looking. Black is sweet.

Yes, you can find black peripherals (more $$$) , but you will have the same problem as with all beige, ......... the shades are usually all different, ranging from "dark black" ............. to "industrial gray" and everything in-between!

My first system is all black, after that hassle I just go for beige and don't really care if it all matches or not, as long as it works and is stable.....!
