I will probably use nero but can use anyting to achieve this.

Basically I want to know if I copy a bootable cd will the copy be bootable or do I have to make it bootable.

Thanks. 😉

how about nero.

I can make the cd bootable again if need be but experience has shown that if you make a cd that is already bootable bootable again it will no longer be bootable.

btw this is a copy of a copy...

No this is not copy protected. In fact I made the first bootable cd myself but would prefer to save myself some time.

Has anyone done this without clone cd?

Copy the CD as a image to your hard drive, then copy the image to a blank cd - it may take a little more time 4-5 minutes more - but if it's not copy protected, you should be good to go...

In Nero, just use CD copy....

I burned a backup of our original bootable win 2000 cd at the office. I used Nero and yes it was bootable, i've used it several time to install the os on our systems. Hope this helps.

It'll work if you copy it as an image either through a direct cd copy or copying first to your hard drive as an image and then burning that. The former is called "on-the-fly" and the later, I don't know what that's called 🙂
