...and then sell my copy of the game, is the buyer then able to use my CD key to create a new account for himself? I want to have this cleared up before I put my copy in FST so that I can avoid any issues.

Thanks,
Charlie

I think there was an FAQ or a link to information about this in the Software forum. Apparently it's much more than simply sending them the game and cancelling your account.

When you sell accounts of those nature you are selling your actual account. He will have to use your login info/passwords to access account. He cannot use your CD keys and create a whole new seperate account.

You send them the CD's. You also give them your logon username and password. Make sure to cancel your subscription. They then install the game, log in to your account, and change the info over to their's: name, credit card, etc. They won't need to re-enter the CD key as they're taking your account over.

I dunno about WoW, but when I played UO you had to sell the actual account. Once the account creation key was used it couldn't be used again.

Yeah I actually sold my acct...the beware they ebay totally started canbeling the auctions with some other people.

In a nutshell everyone here is correct you have to sell the actual account. The CD-Key was just needed to enable the original account so after you sell it you would have to send the buyer the acct name/password and they switch everything over to their info. The only thing they can't convert over is the actual name of the account so my 1st/last name will always be associated with the account.

I know with FFXi your name cannot be changed, and it kept your original address and CC info until someone put in a new, valid one, so be sure you can protect your info
