If i buy conroe now, will it work with vista/dx 10 cards?

Im thinking of buying one of the dandy Conroe's as soon as I can. I'd like to know if the conroe will be compatible with vista (im pretty sure it will), will the motherboard be compatible and more importantly, the dx 10 cards that will come out. Im thinking of picking up a Conroe and a 7900GT for now. How does that sound? Also, will the conroe use DDR2? Thx alot peep holes!

I can't comment on compatibility but the vast majority of motherboards supporting Conroe require DDR2. In fact I'm pretty sure that the uber-cheap ASROCK board is the only one that doesn't.

the asrock board has both ddr and ddr2. yes it will be competible since DX 10 cards are pcie slots.
