Its true that it can either be pc/mac right. Theres no differentiation between like PC only or mAc only? Anything else I should worry about?

There are PC and Mac versions, but with some firmware changes, I believe either can be compatiable with either.

I think that only applies to the 1st and 2nd gen, dunno about the 3rd.

i believe the 1st gen is mac only.

If it isn't already, it can be flashed to work with a PC regardless of which release it is.

Yup, even the 1st gen, I use mine with XP. If you want to change the format, all you have to do is download the corresponding firmware updater from Apple.
