if given enough torque, do you think a smart fortwo can pop a wheelie?

wheelbase might be a bit short... it probably could pop a wheelie, but not the violent one you're thinking of. Tire fitment might be an issue.

The Hayabusa engine doesn't have the torque, and placement is too far forward (in passenger seat) to do it without turbocharging or some other forced induction. It would be a blast though. 🙂

Yeah, that would it be a fun little rocket.

That smart with the Hyabusa engine is recockulous.

How did they rig up the gear shift for it? Does it work in somewhat the same way as a car's in that it just fit right in?

Well, it's a motorcycle gearbox so it's sequential. All you'd have to do is rig up a linkage and tap it like you do the gearshift on a bike...wouldn't be difficult actually since the engine is mounted to the right of the driver and the shift lever is on the left side of the bike.

dude, a smart car project car now sounds not too bad after seeing that ridiculous video haha.

They'll probably hold their resale value pretty well, but i wonder if i can pick one up used and just have it as a project car.

I'm sure you could pick up a wrecked Hayabusa for cheap too. 😀
