If everyone in the USA had to donate $0.39 to the government

$1k? You've got to be kidding me... if everyone was willing to pay that much we wouldn't need to, we'd have the majority ready to switch 😕

They had their chance to convert me in the 70's when I was in elementary school but they did a half ass job of it. Its too freaking late now.

the best way to switch is to secretly use both and then remove the old system one by one. hell we can buy 2-liter cokes...

No, why should I?

To change all the highway signs to metrics/change books into metrics/etc.

Well, it wouldn't be an overnight thing... the books well, they'll just stay the same until the next edition... or kids would be taught to convert it. Signs i can see being somewhat expensive, but you wouldn't even need new signs... just repaint or slap a sticker ontop of it.

If everyone donated a dollar to help the poor, we could save them all.

Even low-income could offer a dollar a day. Imagine 330 million a day. Every day. Forever. Think how easy it would be to give every person a job, a purpose in society. Think how easy it would be to get rid of debt, for the people and for the country. For just a dollar a day.

You sound like those ads about people wanting to donate to help little kids across the world.
