USPS will.

I sold two PS4s on ebay this week. Shipped via USPS, stupidly without insurance, and NEITHER reached their destination.

Shipped from NJ. One bound for California, tracking says delivered in Ozone Park, NY...

The other was staying in state to NJ, no update since getting to the sorting facility two days ago...

I've sent so many packages without a problem like this, I have to imagine someone at the USPS has sticky fingers and was looking for PS4s?

USPS has been completely useless in helping me out.
Anyone have any ideas?

Not sure why anyone would ship a PS4 without insurance. Live and learn. I also bet they both get delivered to the proper people.

I was stupid. I've shipped tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff without ever having to count on insurance, whether I've paid for it or not. The packages were obviously heavy and I was being cheap about it.

I hope you're right, though. Still, the package to NJ was supposed to be delivered Wednesday and still hasn't been. The other, not sure how or why it's saying delivered to NY, but it doesn't look good

Absolutely. USPS has an entire division of people cutting open packages looking for PS4s.

You never need insurance, until you need it.

In the future, ship priority with insurance and delivery confirmation or just use UPS. Saving $5-$10 isn't worth the potential headache.

Cut corners for a buck or two.

Sympathy not found here in tbe thread.

Insurance is for what you can not afford to lose.

You, in your greed felt that the value of two PS4s was not worth anything to you.

I will PM you some grandkids addresses and please send them a unit each. I will cover tbe insurance, I expect that you.will have no problem covering the shipping and cost if the units :p

Was there any external indication of their contents? Double-boxed?

just size and weight. double boxed

I just find it strange that I am having a problem with both, while I've never had a similar problem before

That same trip to the post office I also shipped a pair of jeans that made it to the right place without any trouble

Enjoying this for pretty much every reason this thread exists. All I can say is "Ha ha." It'll be even funnier when both buyers file their Paypal claims and get their money back, AND enjoy their free overpriced PS4's that you tried to scalp.

USPS tracking is not to be relied upon.

I had ordered a package sent with usps tracking, it said it was still in Georgia one day, yet it was in my mailbox in Ohio.

I've heard countless people cite terrible tracking for USPS. More likely than not, it'll get there.

I'd just follow ebay and see if you get any emails and/or ratings from those receiving them. They both probably got them, or will be getting them soon.

I've been in contact with both buyers. The guy is CA is a huge pain in the ass and will probably claim he hasn't received it even if he does. The guy in NJ has been good about it, but he hasn't received his either. We'll see...

Your first mistake was using USPS. UPS and FedEx are way better.

In my experience they are cheaper and faster. Maybe I'll have to reconsider

insurance cost goes by how much insurance you want, not weight. $1000 insurance was a little over $13 for the item I shipped recently.

I meant shipping was a bit costly to begin with because of the weight

ah, ok, got it.

insurance is pretty much for you, not the buyer. I always buy insurance for anything I can't afford to lose money on.

I never had a problem with ebay until that last auction. reserve price is a fucking scam, imo. I put the item up with a $2000 reserve. I could have sworn it said that I would not be charged at all until the auction sells and I think there was a special promotion going on as well for no fees or something. The auction ended no bids and I relisted with $1000 reserve. later on I get a message about a $20 fee for the reserve auction.

I call up ebay to complain and the lady said that reserve price was the reason. they get 10% no matter what. i basically told her the auction said no fees unless it sells, etc. I bitched a bunch and she eventually waived it, but would not waive the $10 fee for the relisting. so they get a cut of the reserve price no matter what, they get whatever other fees for creating the auction, they get the selling fee, and then they get a cut from paypal too.

it's fucking ridiculous. if i ever use ebay again i am not using reserve. wish there was another site like ebay that could take over and put those fuckers out of business.

I don't think I've used Ebay since I got a geforce3 years ago. Had a terrible experience with a broken HDD I bought. After the fact, I reread the posting and realized my error as it was listed as unknown, untested. Right.D::\
