Depends how you define "day".

Are we taking it to mean one complete revolution of the earth, or are we taking it to mean 23 hours and 56 minutes?

Besides, if you kept running east you'd possibly end up in the next time zone and screw everything up that can be screwed up in the grand scheme of things. You shouldn't think such things!

No, days would seem shorter because those running would experience shorter periods of sunlight. They'd also experience shorter periods of night as well, but it wouldn't change the actual time in a day or make the earth speed up or slow down or any of that nonsense.
