If drones delivered pizza, how much would you tip them?

Say they had drones to deliver pizza and other food, instead of people driving cars burning gas, and these drones flied to your house with assistance of a driver on the other end controlling it, how much would you tip? Or would you tip at all, given the person is just sitting on their butt anyway? What if they were autonomous and actually did not require a driver?

After the $5 delivery fee and the $3 drone safety tax, I won't be tipping.

I would order delivery then take down the drone while it is on route to my place. Scrap it and sell the parts for cash. Then I'd order more pizza. ;)

:)

Unless the drones become sentient and are doing this as their regular 9-5 job, there shouldn't be any tip given.

I just wonder how drones will deal with birds, once the birds learn that these odd flying objects carry delicious cargo. Armor plating? Air-air defense systems?

Depends...will they be armed? If so...tip the same as you would a human delivery driver. You DO NOT want to piss them off...

there won't be people operating it from pizza hut, that's primative.. it will be gps.. they will enter the address of the delivery into there own POS sysem, the POS system will interface with the drone (wirelessly) to gain the delivery address... and then the magic of GPS will send it to your curb, courtesy of street view :) you just walk out and pick up the delivery from the hovering drone, it notices the weight difference.. and returns to home base.

Here's hoping it wont rely on Apple maps.

Some guy half way climbing mount everest is going to end up getting my pizza. :awe: The bastard is going to take it too, because he'll be weak and hungry.

Half a quart a 5w30, IF he didn't slide my pizza or wasn't late. Then it's used motor oil for him.

I would grudgingly give it a tip, on account of the fact that if I didn't, it would most likely blow up my house.

Flying has got to be less efficient than driving. Even if its a tiny robot that only has to carry 10lbs-20lbs

Actually I could see it being useful in places like Toronto, where it's not just a <15 minute drive to deliver something. Just beat all the traffic and go straight to the source.

Crows would be a big problem though. Even on foot I've had crows try to swoop at a take out bag I'm carrying from the car lol.
