Then what happens?

Say that he dies from massive bombings and his body blows up with no trace of anything we can identify his DNA. And the Afghan government claims his death.

Similarly, they could hide bin Laden somewhere underground after a few massive bombings and claim his death.

So.. how would the American government react to such true/false claims?

Just came to mind and got curious.

I believe the CIA knows where he is and what he's doing. They can track his movements right now so why would they be fooled into a lie about his death?

bin Laden and the Taliban said that they didn't commit the bombings. Did we believe them? No. Why would we believe this?

Besides, we're not going after bin Laden alone, we're going after the Taliban organization...among other terrorists groups.

It would be hard to believe if they couldnt provide any evidence...

I guess there would be only one thing to do after that, go after his associates.

That will not be acceptable. The goal is capture Bin Laden if possible. There is a world court waiting for him. He probably won't be taken alive. The Taliban would be very foolish to attempt such a flimsy charade.

What I'm guessing will happen is bin Laden will kill himself right before he is captured. He'll have his Taliban grubs spread word that US soldiers killed him so it seems like he died a martyr.
Same thing that Adolf Hitler wanted to happen.

You guys forget; bin Laden is addicted to the camera. He will NOT be able to stay out of the spot light. That, added to the fact that we have satellites capable of tracking him... he cannot hide. I would be willing to bet we know where he is right now (plus or minus a few inches).

Also seeing as we intend to rape the Taleban (what IS the correct spelling?) also, they will unlikely be able to put on such a charade.

I think if any Government wants they can do anything, put only due to political issues things get in the loop.

Ideally, we want his head on a platter. Or just bring him to NYC and let the cops there 'take care of him' ;) Like with their plunger (or was it a broom handle?) :)

How many satellites do you think are watching flies buzz around afghanistan right now. I'm sure there will be evidence. It would be interesting for him to disappear though. Would make people scramble for another terrorist to hate.

Bin Laden is only one man who is at the top of a large organization. we want the whole kit and kaboodle. I don't think it would any action would stop with his death.
