Best campaign promise yet from Trump.

But probably as valid as the one I see on official Trump yard signs all the time" Trump 2020 No More Bullshit." He breaks that promise dozens of times every day.

I would be all for Trump leaving the country if he loses. Hope he takes the Hollywood jackasses that said they would leave if Trump won 4 years ago.

To be honest sometimes I feel like a stranger in a strange land here. :D
Welcome to my world. I first noticed it when I was 7 or 8 when I saw The Day the Earth stood still, the original. it's when I first realized that almost everybody I had ever met was insane. Get a gift from another dimension, destroy it. Go with your fears. It was all right there in front of me in black and white.

I thought it was an Iron Maiden reference.

Hmm interesting point Jeffrey Toobin on CNN brought up on whether Biden would persue Trumpity Dumpity. If it does happen, it's the only news story that would be talked about. Totally shadowing anything the administration would be doing to clean up the mess from last 4 years.

Even negative post is good post in Trumpity Dumpity's eyes. Best thing for the US and the rest of the world is just ignore the entire family in 2021
I figure this is going to be part of the "conversation," as it were. Is it entirely up to Biden (if elected) whether to go after the trumpster dumpster? Obviously he will not want prosecuting trump to be a distraction from the major business at hand, repairing the damage and setting a course for the nation that leads us effectively forward.

That movie affected me very strongly as well. It's the rare movie you never forget.

Stranger in a Strange Land was a Robert Heinlein novel and later a song by Leon Russell. The novel in particular was quite good. It's science fiction, of course.

The first Heinlein novel I read was The Puppet Masters. I think of it sometimes in this pandemic, their are parallels, eery parallels, particularly because of the insane politicization going on. Read it and you'll see what I mean. IMO, excellent science fiction.

I figure they'd be leaving for very different reasons. How can Trump not be prosecuted for the pornstar payoffs?

I think this point is totally misguided. The original point of not prosecuting members of the opposite party was to not be politically vindictive and weaponize the office. On the other hand, to not prosecute would be to legitimize wanton corrupt actions and send the message that presidents can expect a get out of jail free card irrespective of pardon power.

My thoughts are they should go for the throat.

There are more countries with an extradition agreement with the United States than there are without one unless I am way off base.

Meaning Trump's options might be limited

And one of my least favorite Iron Maiden songs.

He would have to go somewhere that Russia has a direct sphere of influence, yet not Russia so as to not invite more sanctions from a dem admin. My first thought is turkey, no clue what the nuances or ramifications would be.

Cut off his social media accounts. Biden can turn all responsibility over to his AG. Let this new justice departments do their work and there will be no updates.

Meanwhile Biden goes about being President and fixing this fucked up country.

I think putting a special prosecuter would be the way to do it. One with no obvious ties to democrats.

My mistake. I made a mistake. I thought Florida WAS another country. I guess it's just another species of humans that live there. Swamp people maybe...
Hey, I LIVE THERE, as do at least one Mod and uncounted ATF members, all of us are "normal" people (somewhat) and we will be out in 100% force to cast a ballot to try and rid us of the menace we all so despise.

In short then, what I hear you saying is that traditional Democrats like Biden have no idea how to prioritize relevance. The ruin of Trump and all that supported him should be near the top in vital tasks for the sake of the future of the nation. They are owed a great repayment and re-balancing of in terms of justice. they should never be allowed any bullshit forgiveness for the sake of national unity. They were the dividers so separate them into a national scum pot so let the victims of their hatred can have the satisfaction of payback. The filth the Republican Party has become has caused millions of people to suffer needless outrage. I cant understand forgiveness as anything other than the fear of political payback from the very same crazies. The bastards went full retard and we all know you never do that. That asshole Ford pardoned Nixon and some are still here that hate him for that. And what did the shit do but try to redeem himself. Had he died in prison with the rest of his mafia we might have never seen Trump run for office. Every time Trump opens his lying stupid mouth it is an affront to human dignity. Every woman in America should have an opportunity to slam his face and every man the chance to kick him in the ass.

There needs to be a massive, TRANSPARENT investigation, broadcasted live by CSPAN and NPR.

Instead of just voting out the criminals, we should prosecute them for the first time ever in US History.

It's now or never.

I so hope Florida goes for Biden. I have that hope for Texas too. And Utah, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Ohio too! Iowa! Alaska might be a tough one, I read the other day and I'm thinking there must be hordes of morons living there.

I didn't/never said that Trump and the Republican Party should be exonerated, pardoned, let off the hook for their crimes. Only that the spectacle of going after them shouldn't obscure other important imperative work, so the whole process has to be managed not to be overly chaotic and distracting from a prioritized process forward. For me, that might entail appointing an AG with an attack dog mentality, so there!

No, that's what you're projecting into what I said and for the purpose of setting up your personal narrative. Which is something you like to do.

What I heard you expressing is the idea that Democrats will play to the political winds they will see as realities, that a hard core prosecution of Trump crimes will alienate conservative voters and create political troubles. When I said that 'I hear you saying' I didn't mean that what you were saying was your opinion, only that this hesitancy you alluded to to go for hard nosed pay back for injustice is a well worn political theme. I am saying that politicians, all of then, tend to be cowards and reluctant to take a firm stand anywhere. They like to have said something to cover all sides of an issue. I think this is a fact. I also assume that you agree it is too.

I made my displeasure know as to how I feel about that. I never considered that you would take what I said as somehow directed at you. I saw nothing in what you wrote to suggest you approve of what you expect Biden to do or not, I pretty much expect weak sauce from him and I don't like it. I want the Republicans to know Benghazi up their asses. Those filthy fucks.
