If beef is completely frozen and sealed, how long can it be good for?

One year in a manual defrost freezer.

You might get 3 to 5 months in a frost free freezer before it is so freezer burnt that you wouldn't want to bother with it.

I have had wrapped chucks (from purchasing a side of beef) kept in a Sears chest freezer for 12-15 months. When thawed out, meat was still tender and tasty, off the grill.

That was as long as a side would last a family of six.

If is stayed frozen after the initial freeze (and not left in fridge for days prior to freezing), there should be no problem with it.

Recommended: 6-12months, In reality it could probably safely last years. Of course it might be quite dry and tough after that time. :)
