If ATOT cost money....

I would not pay anything. Sorry Anand, but while this forum is a pretty good way to waste some time, it's not a necessity in my life.

Why would I pay to help other people with their problems? True enough that I get help part of the time, but I also help... so it kinda balances out.

Subscribers ??
I subscribed for faster browsing (the regular servers were SLLOOOOWW when they started the subscriber service), full text searching, and 1000pm's. If OT didn't exist I'd still have subscribed for General Hardwaree and FS/T alone. GH has fixed many a PC problem for me, I've gotten more than my money's worth if you figure what it'd have cost for me to take my PC to a repair shop.

Now that FT and more PM's have switched to regular users too, I'm not too worried about my sub expiring.

If lurking was still free, I think quite a few people would eventually bite the bullet and pay about $8 a month to be a member who can freely post (and the membership would give you access to content earlier than non-suscribers maybe). I wouldn't, but i can understand why many would. Lurking is good. I lurked here for a couple of months before i started posting. I originally had joined to post something in the software forum and didn't even know abut OT back then.

There definitely wouldn't be as many immature teenage brats on here.. LOL.. so it would be more civilized (which would suck, so no fees are good.)
