I wish I had read the yelp and google reviews before coming to this hell hole. It was a giant mistake not to do my research. I do not say these words lightly.

I bought a marble table from Rooms To Go in late June, when the delivery came in early July, I noticed a lot of small holes on top of the table. The customer service people claimed its a natural result of stone formations and there will be imperfections. I understand it's stone with imperfections, however, I repeatedly emphasized that there is not even lacquer covering the holes to begin with. The stone on top should be covered with a layer of lacquer and parts of it were not. So If I were to drop some coffee or juice into the holes it would be impossible to clean them out. They gave me an exchange a week later, and lo and hold, this new table also had the same problems, it was full of holes and imperfections on the lacquer, with extremely poor lacquer job. They even sent a tech out here late last month to look at it, and the tech himself has said that the holes on a new table are unreasonable and should not have been sold in the first place. I requested another exchange, which came earlier today. Before the delivery man even came into my door, I told them I'm going to go into their truck and inspect the table myself to make sure it's a perfectly smooth one this time. I ended up not accepting their delivery because it had the same problems as the previous 2 tables.

After speaking with the customer service supervisor, they told me that the holes on my $1200 table is natural stone formation and no lacquer on top is considered normal. This is equivalent of telling me that 2 + 2 = 5, and I just need to accept it. They will not refund you your money no matter what. They finally agreed to send out a technician to redo the lacquer on top of the table as per the warranty. I'm just tired of wasting my time on these people. Its ridiculous that a new furniture need to be repaired. If anyone is buying new furniture, avoid Rooms To Go like the plague. They will take your money and never give you the product you paid for. 0/10 customer service + defective product. This company is every consumer's nightmare.

Is that the one where you have to pay to join that advertises substantial discounts?

Seriously, you gonna get sued if they see this thread. Companies have sued over bad reviews.

It had no lacqeur finish, but someone was supposed to come out and redo the lacquer finish? How does that work? I thought marble surfaces were just polished and that you typically have to use a sealer, same as with granite.

Room to Go has always been referred to as Rooms That Go for decades here locally from people I know I suppose.

I don't think it is. If you're talking about the one (where you had to like subscribe and then you'd get like whole room improvement plans, they advertised how you would save like tens of thousands of dollars per room), and I believe they got hammered big time (maybe even investigated by the FTC?) after people had all manner of problems. I seem to remember there was like a bait and switch type of thing where they advertised high end stuff but were using a bunch of knockoff junk that just looked nice on the surface but was shit underneath.

Let them sue, they'll lose and end up setting of a shitstorm that will likely take them down or at least end up costing them far more than they'll get by trying to fuck with one person.

Did the sample furniture in the store have a smooth top with no holes in the table top? If it were me I'd call my credit card company and decline the transaction and explain why.
