If Anger did not exist where would humans be right now?

Do you think the pros would outweigh the cons if the emotion of anger just completely disappear right now.

Or if Anger did not exist to even begin with.

I feel that anger is such a volatile emotion and greatly hinders rational thought. I sometimes want to think things through but anger is too much of a distraction.

We would be extinct for we would had not hated our mortal enemies the lizard people while we were cavemen and they would have eliminated us before we got to them.

The enemy of rational thought is not anger but all emotion.

I would rather see ego disappear. All those little things that cause us to separate ourselves from others is the main problem. Things like country, color, race, religion, state, political parties, classes, etc. need to die.

At the end of the day we're all human sharing the planet and we need to take care of each other and our planet. That's the only way we're going to achieve peace and move forward at record speeds.

We didn't get to all of them.

They're coming back.

You don't have to be angry to want to kill someone. Serial killers seem quite calm. Even insects get angry. Try ticking off some ground hornets sometime.

You can still have a calm, rational system where undesirable/unproductive members of society are persecuted and killed for the betterment of mankind. I think humanity would be better off without anger.

Disagree. Emotion and reason are useful as they give life/humanity meaning. Anger is the most wasteful and unproductive emotion, but can be salvaged by turning it into passion. Training yourself in control and self-discipline is the key.

I would rather see ego disappear. All those little things that cause us to separate ourselves from others is the main problem.

People lie to themselves to protect from their own egos. It's a powerful enough emotion that some never advance or learn from their own mistakes. Yet they are only lying to and pacifying themselves. Otherwise the human ego is actually extreme weaksauce against others.

In fact, the individuals easiest to exploit are those with egos and uncorrected blind spots. They have never learned how to control their own emotions and are their own worst enemies.

However, I ultimately believe in the survival of the fittest. You can only take care of others when you first care for yourself. And if you don't, few will. The US is actually a very selfish society, so expect to be burned if you often give way more than take.

It isn't rational to see the world as so dichotomous.

Senseless anger and ego have very close associations. Considering that the opposite of anger is dispassion or insensibility, one needs to allow sense and passion dictate their lives. Just a little love added to that natural anger produces passion.

There - in fact - is a duality to all of life. The yin and yang represent power forces of nature mediating our very existences.

Existence will always be balanced as a little more passionate than angry, slightly more sweet than sour, slightly more good than evil. One merely needs to swim with that powerful current (instead of against it) in order to find themselves on the more productive and reasonable end.

Eventually fight your own body and your own basic instincts enough and find yourself on the losing end.

Yeah, a world without anger would work very well. Because pride, responsibility, self-respect, accountability, etc... would take care of everything else and you wouldn't need anger to do it.

But, "I shall strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious indignation" just doesn't have quite the same ring.
