It actually happened on another forum I used to visit a few years ago. Complete with an obituary for proof. The guy who killed himself is the original poster in this thread. He offed himself over a woman.

We tried to reason with him, and one member even spoke with him over the phone, but we had no impact. If someone is determined to take their own life, they'll do it no matter what.

If someone were to threaten to kill themselves here I would likely protest, but usually those who mean business don't come out and announce they are going to do it.

I still don't know if he was entirely serious or not but at least he didn't kill himself that night (don't know if he's still alive now)

Just kidding. My Step-Dad used to work a suicide hot-line on a volunteer basis and I have a lot of respect for him for that and countless other things...he taught me a lot about life. You really need to take that kind of thing seriously.
