If a place charges $1.00 for delivery do you have to pay tip?

Well, considering that almost none of tht money makes it into the drivers hands, I woudl tip him. Plus, who in the hell leaves a 1 dollar tip?!? Don't be a cheapo, leave two or three. If the order is over 20 bucks, leave 4.

I'm glad that my Papa John's doesn't charge for delivery, or I'd make a lot less money.

No, you ARE cheap. The only reason to tip that low was if the driver/pizza place did a lousy job, or if you live in a trailor.

For real, if you can't tip at least $3, just do delivery drivers around the world a favor and pick it up yourself. Add another dollar for being more than 5 miles away from the store, and 2 dollars for every extra bag that the driver has to carry.

I dont know why people are cheap with tips anyway... people who tip me good always get their pizza first.

What I don't understand is how my house (a 2-3 mile shot down major roads) is subject to $1.50 extra in delivery fees from papa johns yet my pizza still ends up last in the line of deliveries. _That's_ paying for nothing extra.

It's not ending up last in the lines of delivery, If you order on a busy night, most drivers will try and take the oldest order they have first, and unless you're house is close to the route of one of the other deliveries, you'll have to wait. Now, if the driver had like only 2 or 3 orders, and all of the pizzas were faily new/ordered at the same time, you'd probably get yours first.

ANyway, I'm glad my Papa John's franchise doesn't charge for delivery :)

Yes, you still need to tip. Do you think the driver gets that entire dollar that you paid to the store? It's probably 25 to 75 cents per delivery, if not something lame like 20 cents per mile.

And if it did, is a dollar adequate compensation for the driver when they make 3-6 deliveries per hour--6 per hour only happens when its extremely busy--and only get paid minimum wage to drive their own vehicle, which must be full of gas, insured, and well maintained enough to be dependable?

I'll give you a hint: It's not. Tip the delivery driver, and tip him well. He/she works harder than you may realize, and his/her expenses are substantial.

If you're too cheap to tip, please order it for pick-up.

Note taken: When I'm on a delivery with 6 orders, you'll get your pizza last. Hey, I might as well bust my ass to get to a customers house that I know will tip well, even if your pizza is older. it's not like I'll be loosing anything.

There's nothing worse than a cheap bastard, but there's nothing more entertaining than an angry cheap bastard.
