It is called personal security and has no bearing on the mindset or psychology of the victim but it has everything to do with the psychology of the criminal trying to do this. I spent a lot of time around Arabs and Europeans when I was a kid, men kissing each other on the cheek in greeting is something that doesn't shock or disgust me at all.

I've had a gay friend try to make someone jealous once by pretend flirting with me, he later kissed me on the cheek when he thought his guy was paying attention. To me that's just silly and no big deal, my date couldn't stop laughing and she was helping out all she could.

A big deal to me is when bodily fluids are involved. A guy's saliva, snot, puke, blood, whatever, has no business being anywhere near me. Drunk assholes trying to be the life of the party can get a little too carried away with their teasing and attempts at homoerotic humor. Sometimes warnings are ignored, lines are crossed, and someone ends up with a mouthful of bloody chiclets because they choose to ignore boundaries and common courtesy.
