Hey guys, I need to buy a Bug's Life for my mum on DVD, they're released a new collector's version right which is 2 disks. Anyway I went to 4 shops, 3 of them had it but they all say "Version Francois Incluse" on the front. Mind you the entire dvd packaging is in english, not a single line of french. HOWEVER the technical specs list only "french audio track" and nothing about an english one.

Does this mean that the DVD is only in french ? Or are they just stupid and mean you can also put it in french...

Thanks - Rob

That's the one I'm looking for I guess, no french sticker, but I need it tonight before I head off to Toronto tomorrow so my mum doesn't have to bother. Any ideas ?

Uhhhh... where the heck are you in north america? I assume someone in Canada.

They usually have those on there to indicate there's a fench language track (not always available in the US release) so it'll sell in Quebec. As long as the rest of the packaging is in English, you're fine as that'll be the default language.

Even if it does not list english on the back at all ? I'm in Ottawa by the way, so yes the stupid quebec thing would apply

Ah, no surprise there then.

You mean the boxes where they list the technical specs, that dosen't specify an English audio track? I would be extremely surprised if it were not there, especially considering this is a major disney release. Worst case, you could get it at another store. Really, while possible I've never hear of it happening with something like that.

Yeah it doesn't specify english, nothing about it, only french audio track. I've tried every store near me, Rogers, Futureshop and some others. The ones that have it are all the same, all the french version, so wtf.

Well, the disc info on the futureshop link says it's an english movie, but it's dubbed into french. I'd assume it's dubbed into french.

Is the description of the movie written in English? If so, that should be fine.

Generally speaking in Canada most DVDs will have the "Frech Track Included" or "Version francias" etc.. but generally it'll be in English with just the French audio/subtitle track. Just about ALL my movies have that (I'm in Canada btw), so I think it's merely language laws.

What does it say under the sound specs? I mean on my Pirates of the Caribbean, another Disney flick, it has the Version Francais, and doesn't explicitly say "English" under Sound/Audio, just the sound modes DTS, etc..

I'm gonna bet it's english, and just has the french tracks.
