If a computer is running slow?

And it hasn't had windows redone on it in a long time but you can't redo windows on it. What would you do to help speed it up? Defrag,spyware removal apps,virus scans,ect?

defrag
microsoft antispyware
spybot
hijackthis to catch anything else not detected by the above
virus scan
msconfig - remove unneccessary services and startups

I would do those, not necessarily in that order.
