If a company is offering two similar positions, would it be a bad idea to apply to both?

i dont want to give human resources the impression that i'm spamming them or want just any darn position...

I don't think that it would be bad... just shows you're determined that's all.

The only problem I see is if you end up getting both jobs, you probably wouldnt perform well at one of them and you may have to fire yourself.
