...then what is the logical order of things to check?

Symptoms of Doom:
Running along fine, temps in normal range. Video blanks out, followed by intermittent beeps every 3 seconds or so. Beeps last ~1.5 secs, and repeat endlessly. System hardware is stock from AW. No recent installs of any software. All current drivers for 2 months with no issues. All cables have been checked and reseated. Motherboard replaced today, and issue persists.

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD FX-55
Dual NVidia 6800 Ultra in SLI
2x512 Corsair Platinum (checked against other known good sticks)

I'd really rather not send them the whole damn box back, which is what they want me to do.

Maybe if you describe the beeps in a little more detail? 3 short beeps, that repeat, is typicaly memory related. alternating high and low is usualy overheating. Have you tried booting with a single stick of ram, and single graphics card?

Start collecting testing parts. New mobo so 99.999% that's not the problem.

Check the mobo manual's beep codes.

Clear CMOS.

Swap out the PSU.

Use 1 video card.

Swap video card and test again.

Try the memory in different slots one stick at a time.

Good luck, troubleshooting something like this when it's been running stable with no changes is the worst. Remember to always do one thing at a time...if you combine them and it works, you have to figure out which change fixed it.
