depends on what state you're in IIRC. If you could prove that you were in mortal danger of your life, then you'd get off. Otherwise, it'd probably be 2nd degree murder.

Let's say 5 guys surround you and you feel as if you are about to get your ass kicked (not killed, but seriously hurt) and you stabbed them what would happen.

yeah you're going to jail for assault with a deadly weapon. Most states have laws stating that you need to be defenind yourself to use the weapon. Otherwise you're bubba boytoy

Which is really BS. It's Self Defense. If 5 people are attacking someone, than they got what they deserve.

pepper spray and/or tasers are better alternatives to a knife anyway.

not to kill them in self defense. there are limits to how much you can defend yourself without becoming the attacker

There's only one Taser model authorized for civilian carry and you could only take one guy down with it and only for 30 seconds.

Sounds like my situation. I was surrounded by 5 guys. My mom was with me. She was scared to death. One of them tried to sucker punch/bitchslap or something and did it a few times, and then I just went full out smacked him square in the face and he fell back. Of course by then I was dead because the other 4 guys jumped me and I was fvcked. I grabbed my mom and I ran.. except there were a billion other ppl around me so we couldn't really run.

I came back with my eye scratched (contacts) and my back aching and probably a few bruises here or there, but yea...

If it was on camera that they attacked you first, you would probably not be charged in criminal court except perhaps for assault with a deadly weapon, unless they started to run away and you pressed the attack, in which case you'd be charged with first degree murder. OTOH, even if you suffer no criminal charges, you would inevitably be sued for wrongful death by the family of your assailant.

My son was at a bar and five guys jumped him and it all on camera, I know he can get them for assault and battery , but can he turn around and sue , because he could not go to work and lost his job.
