Iexplore using 100% cpu at tmies

I went onto my mother's business computer today only to find it slow as a goat and riddled with spyware. I did the usual scans but it still isn't up to par

Is it only using 100% while you are in IE or is explorer.exe using 100% all the time? Install firefox and tell her to not use IE. And what the heck is she looking at on her business machine to get all that spyware?

If it's running like complete ass after you have done all your scans then I have found it to be easier just to backup the data that is needed and format it.

It seems like a pain in the ass, I know, but if you set it up to have its own partition for windows and have everything else on a separate partition then if this ever happens in the future you can just reinstall windows and be up in running in just a couple hours. Make sure you install spyware blaster and Spybot to prevent any spyware from coming in in the first place and get her using Firefox.

yeah I know, my solution is like using a sledgehammer on a regular nail, but it gets the job done.
